ConstruGomes is yielded to the Construction Method carried out by the Storstrøm Bridge Joint Venture (SBJV) in the construction of the precast foundations and piers shafts to build the new Storstrøm Bridge, which will connect Zealand with Falster via Masnedø.

These precast foundations are being prefabricated in a dedicated workshop on Masnedø area and are stored in a dedicated area were the precast pier shaft will be installed. At this point, the foundation/pier will be ready for the load-out.

The precast foundation/pier will be lifted and moved using a SPMT (Self Propelled Modular Transporters) until the top of a flat barge towed by tugs. At the end of the load-out on the barge, the element is fixed to the barge by a proper sea fastening and transported to his final position set by a precise DGPS system and topographic survey.

To conclude the installation process, the precast foundation is placed by a special catamaran vessel equipped with a strand jack system that is responsible for sinking the foundation/pier until reaching the pre-levelled gravel bed.
