This project consists of the construction of an underground Hydroelectric Plant, the works are divided into two parts. The first part had the main goal to do the deep and rigorous clean of the pavement on the several tunnel galleries and the subsequent pouring of the blinding concrete. The second phase was the concrete covering of a metallic pipe with 6 m of diameter on a ditch throughout the side of a very steep mountain.
For that, ConstruGomes developed a climbing formwork traveller that covered 12 linear meters of the pipeline in each cycle. This cycle was divided into two phases of casting, the first where it was cast around 1/3 of the pipe (lower part) and it was done against the soil. Some part of this 1st phase was done recurring also to traditional timber formwork. The 2nd phase was done recurring totally to the formwork traveller and cast the rest of the pipeline’s section.
Traditional formwork for the lower third of the duct
