Haren Prison Complex

The Haren Prison Complex project, located near the airport of Zaventem, was designed to replace a series of prisons in Belgium that no longer respond to the needs and conditions of today. The construction of the Haren prison consists of 108 thousand square meters, built in an area of 15 hectares, for 1190 inmates and 1000 administrative employees.

The design of Haren's new prison is based on the principle of a prison village, a series of scattered buildings instead of a huge building. On the one hand, this complex will consist of a series of buildings with community facilities, such as visiting areas, workshops, and a sports hall and, on the other hand, several buildings where the detainees will be accommodated.

The works awarded to ConstruGomes consist of the execution of the perimeter wall over 1200 meters long and the construction of 3 buildings including one of the prisons for female detainees.
