In this project, ConstruGomes was responsible for raising four bollards as part of the rehabilitation and reinforcement work on the Edgar Cardoso Bridge over the River Mondego.
To this end, it used its Strand Jack technological solution.
The Strand Jack is a hydraulic system capable of lifting and lowering structures of high load and size. Due to its speed, safety and ease of handling, this system is widely used in the construction and offshore industries.
Its system works manually or automatically, using high-strength steel cables activated by a hydraulic cylinder, and each unit has two anchoring systems with wedges.
One system is located at the top and the other at the bottom, which tighten and release the cable bundle sequentially, making it possible to reach climbing speeds of up to four minutes per meter.
