Merelbeke - Project Bergwijkbrug

The new Bergwijkbrug project over the Ringvaar canal, in Merelbeke, consists of a new bridge with three lanes and a bidirectional bicycle route. This new infrastructure will replace a severely damaged existing bridge that is over 60 years. The main goal of this new bridge is the enlargement of the lanes to allow a better circulation of the cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles. In addition to this improvement, the new bridge will allow the passage of larger cargo ships, with the possibility of load up to three layers of containers.

ConstruGomes is responsible for the pre-assemble, assemble, and installation of several formwork elements, for the installation and sealing of the precast beams on the deck, for the installation of the Post-tensioning ducts, for the installation of the reinforcement on the deck, on the mast, and, on the webs, and subsequent concrete pour.
