Viaduto do Corgo is the biggest structure within the highway link A4 and Transmontana highway, which connects Porto to Bragança. This work of great technical complexity and architectural beauty gave a greater shine to Douro Vinhateiro, considered of significant importance to World Heritage.
The execution of this viaduct fulfilled the main goal of this project which was ensuring the crossing of Corgo's River Valley, in Vila Real. As a result it has enhanced the territorial cohesion, reduced road accidents and ultimately increased employment opportunities.
